His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses that professional challenges of the graduates of 28th Advanced Command and Staff Course are very real and demanding as they return to the respective services, especially to those who will confront and respond to threats on their nations' security.

 

His Majesty made the titah at the Closing Ceremony of the 28th Advanced Command and Staff Course, which took place at the United Kingdom Defence Academy in Shrivenham, United Kingdom. Accompanying His Majesty was Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.

 

The arrival of His Majesty at the Cormorant Building, Joint Services Command and Staff College was welcomed by His Royal Highness 920 Major Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen; Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff; Major General Peter Rowell, Commandant and Chief Executive of the Defence Academy; Air Commodore Ian Sharrocks, Director of the Joint Services Command and Staff College; Professor Kate Utting, Head of Defence Studies Department, King's College London; Colonel Rory Shannon, Course Director ACSC; and 964 Major UDARA Muhammad Izdihar bin Haji Imbran, 28th ACSC graduate. In the titah, His Majesty was honoured to deliver the titah to the graduates.

 

His Majesty presented the Cormorant Award to Lieutenant Colonel Fabrice Dubosson, from the Swiss Armed Forces.

 

His Majesty presented the Pass Staff College Joint Certificate and the Cormorant Pin to His Royal Highness 920 Major Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen, who successfully completed the 28th ACSC. The ACSC is a leadership course, designed to equip military officers and mid-level civil servants for senior positions. Meanwhile, the Cormorant Pin is awarded to international course members who have completed ACSC.

 

At the ceremony, His Majesty was accorded an honour by the British Armed Forces with a Fly Past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

 

At the end of the ceremony, His Majesty interacted with the award recipients and sponsors. This year, 260 future leaders participated in the ACSC course, coming from 50 allied and partner countries.
